Everyone hates loose nuts. That includes Polaris corp. They are recalling almost 7000 victory motorcycles. They are going to be checking the nuts on some of the 2012 and 2013 victory motorcycles. The recall will effect all the 2013 boardwalk and the 2012 and 2013 cross-country. The Hard ball, the high ball, The judge and the jackpot. and also the Vegas and Vision models. Also included is the 2012 victory Kingpin.
victory motorcycles dealers will be checking the nuts on these motorcycles free of charge starting october 12, 2012. Victory will be notifing owners of the recalled models to let them know to bring in their motorcycles to have thier nuts retorqued. Customer should know this is a mandatory inspections. The nuts in question are on the throttle cables. They can come loose on the road. This could possibly lead to a throttle cable getting stuck in one of the nuts. Which could cause a throttle to be stuck wide open or closed.
We all know how important it is for our nuts to be properly installed on our motorcycles. Victory is doing everything right in the way they are handling this nut problem. So please take your motorcycle in to your nearest victory dealer and let them do the recall and make sure your nuts are tighten properly.
