Triumph has a new trophy on it shelf, the 2013 triumph trophy 1200se. The new motorcycle will be launched in January and is Triumph Motorcycles entry into the touring market. The new motorcycle (triumphs third new model in 18 months) is heavy with new tech for all the bells . The new Trophy shares the same 1215 cc three cylinder engine as the Tiger Explorer but with a modified higher ratio 6th gear for better touring.
The motor puts out 132hp at 8900 rpm and 89 ft pds of torque, more than enough to tear up the freeways from coast to coast. The new “ride by wire” tech helps combine traction control and cruise control to improve fuel efficiency but still make you feel like you are on the fast touring bike on the planet.
Triumph has also designed the fairings to optimize weather and wind protection . The new electrically-adjustable screen can raise nearly 6.5 inches and comes with a memory function that returns the windscreen to the riders favorite position.
This is Triumph’s first venture into the large touring market and I got to say it is impressive. This bike is direct competition the BMW k1600gt and the BMW k1200rt both incredible machines. How do you thing The new Trophy is going to compare against the BMW’s I think the Germans will need to heading back to the drawing board soon if the want to stay ahead of the competition.
